Notes  Description: Common in reef flats and shallow lagoons to a depth of about 4 m. Feeds on small crustaceans and fishes (Ref. 1602). Nocturnal species (Ref. 7300) [details]

Remark: In Cuvier & Valenciennes <111>. Not found in Western Indian Ocean by Smith. Possibly synonym with Ostorhynchus endekataenia (Bleeker, 1852) (=Apogon endekataenia Bleeker, 1852 in <111>), a highly variable species Smith (1961). [details]
