Taxonomy: The name Granulina clandestina (or, earlier, Gibberulina clandestina) has been applied to both fossil and Recent specimens. However, the name is based on a fossil, and Gofas (1992) has showed that it should be restricted to a Pliocene fossil. The Recent species for which the name had earlier been used should now be called Granulina marginata (Bivona, 1832) or G. boucheti Gofas, 1992. [details] | ||||||||||
