Distribution Known only from the type locality (Iceland). [details]

Ecology Coarse sand and gravel in lower intertidal zone. It is quite possible. however, that P. firmus is subtidal rather than intertidal. The species was found at low water mark during very low tide, but under stones where the sediment is probably never exposed to drainage. [details]
