Homonymy Replaced homonym. Axiothea Malmgren, 1866 is junior homonym to Axiothea Pascoe 1864 [Insecta], and replaced by Axiothella Verrill, 1900. Chamberlin (1919:410) suggested that "Axiothea Malmgren, being preoccupied (Pascoe, 1864), gives way to Paraxiothea Webster (1879), of which Clymenella and Axiothella of Verrill are also synonyms." However, the Paraxiothea type, Paraxiothea latens Webster, 1879, is a Clymenella, and not related to Axiothea/Axiothella.  [details]
