Type locality Port-Vendres, France, situated near the Spanish border on the Côte Vermeille in south west France, Mediterranean Sea (gazetteer estimate 42.519º, 03.109º). As no type material could be found, Hutchings & Rainer (1982) created a neotype using MNHN AS405, a specimen said to be from Alexandria, Egypt, 1933, ident. P. Fauvel. No new geolocation was given. [details]

Neotype Type locality was Port Vendres, Mediterranean coast of France but no type specimen existed. A neotype was published by Hutchings & Rainer (1982) using specimen MNHN AS405, from Alexandria, Egypt, 1933, ident. P. Fauvel. This specimen is not listed in the MNHN list of types published by Solís-Weiss, Bertrand, Helléouet & Pleijel (2004). The neotype was described as "It lacks posterior segments, and appears to have been stretched during preservation" No illustrations were included in the 'redescription'. [details]
