Type locality Port-Vendres, France, situated near the Spanish border on the Côte Vermeille in south west France, Mediterranean Sea (gazetteer estimate 42.519º, 03.109º). As no type material could be found, Hutchings & Rainer (1982) created a neotype using MNHN AS405, a specimen said to be from Alexandria, Egypt, 1933, ident. P. Fauvel. No new geolocation was given. Neotype Type locality was Port Vendres, Mediterranean coast of France but no type specimen existed. A neotype was published by Hutchings & Rainer (1982) using specimen MNHN AS405, from Alexandria, Egypt, 1933, ident. P. Fauvel. This specimen is not listed in the MNHN list of types published by Solís-Weiss, Bertrand, Helléouet & Pleijel (2004). The neotype was described as "It lacks posterior segments, and appears to have been stretched during preservation" No illustrations were included in the 'redescription'. [details]
