Nomenclature Fabriciola berkeleyi is a replacement name for Fabriciola pacifica (Berkeley & Berkeley, 1950), originally Fabricia...
Nomenclature Fabriciola berkeleyi is a replacement name for Fabriciola pacifica (Berkeley & Berkeley, 1950), originally Fabricia pacifica. There are two points to note. Banse should have named the species 'berkeleyorum' as presumably he intended to honour both describers. Secondly, the secondary homonymy no longer exists, as the species of the Berkeley's has been recombined to Rubifabriciola. However, a name replaced before 1961 is permanently invalid. [details]
