Notes
From other sources
Unreviewed: has not been verified by a taxonomic editorSynonymy It is unclear why so many authors prefer the name Trochus clelandi W. Wood, 1828 above the senior T. miliaris Brocchi, 1814. By checking the original description and figures of Brocchi, there seems to be no doubt that T. miliaris probably should be prefered (like in Thorson, 1941 and Sneli, 1974, 1979). Pending the opinion of other authors Trochus clelandi will still be used. [details]

Unreviewed: has not been verified by a taxonomic editorTaxonomy According to Nordsieck (1968) and Sneli (1974, 1979) C. clelandi belongs to Clelandella (Winckworth, 1932),as it seems to take an intermediate position between Calliostoma (Swainson, 1840) and Jujubinus (Monterosato, 1884). Winckworth (1932) and Janssen (1975) both consider Clelandella as a subgenus of either Cantharidus (Montfort, 1810) or Jujubinus respectively (Monterosato, 1884). [details]
