Taxonomy This species should probably go to the genus Tritia Risso 1826 like its sibling Tritia gibbosula (Linnaeus, 1758) (see Oliverio & Tringali, 1992), but has not been formally transferred so far in any published work, therefore is still listed under Nassarius according to the policy of WoRMS to remain as a recording tool and not to establish new combinations.  [details]
