Notes  Biology: pleustonic [details]

Description: Float to 15 cm, with crest; many long tentacles hang beneath. Habitat: floating at surface, occasionally inshore. Distribution: pantropical and warm-temperate. Sting severe, but rarely lethal. Specimens with a single main tentacle are thought by some to be a distinct species (Richmond, 1997). [details]
