Taxonomic remark Both Maciolek (1990) and Bick et al. (2010) have commented on the poor type material (mid fragments only), but Bick et al believe the species is readily distinct based on chaetae compared to other related Baltic spionids. Morphology still incompletely known (pygidium not known). [details]

Editor's comment As known records are from the shallows in the Baltic Sea, a deepsea presence seems unlikely. Inclusion as a deepsea species needs verification. Possibly this inclusion was an interpretation from records in Jirkov 2001:319 [details]
