Spelling The name is likely an incorrect spelling in the sense of ICZN art. 32. The authors give as etymology for their new name that it has been chosen because the species resembles a thumb. The Latin term for thumb is 'pollex' (not 'pollax'). As an incorrect original spelling it should be altered according to art. 32.5. However, we refrain from correcting the name because the word pollax does exist in the meaning of a medieval offensive weapon. For that reason we invoke art. 32.3 to preserve the name unaltered. [details]
