Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorDiagnosis Diagnosis by Bakken & Wilson (2005: 525), modified from Qiu & Qian (2000: 1112-1113): "Eversible pharynx with pair of jaws, soft papillae on oral ring, paragnaths and occasionally soft papillae on maxillary ring. Prostomium with entire anterior margin, one pair of antennae, one pair of biarticulated palps and two pairs of eyes. Four pairs of tentacular cirri. Parapodia biramous, except first two pairs. Notopodia with dorsal and ventral ligule, and often prechaetal lobe present. Neuropodia with postchaetal lobe and ventral ligule. Notochaetae: homogomph spinigers and occasionally homogomph falcigers. Neurochaetae with homogomph or heterogomph spinigers and homogomph or heterogomph falcigers. Scanning electron micrographs show the ends of the chaetal shafts to have a large solitary tooth and a circular fringe of small teeth.[details]
