Etymology The species is dedicated to the memory of Dr Grigore Antipa (1867–1944), founder of hydrobiological studies in Romania, brilliant specialist in fishes, director of Romanian Fisheries, secretary of Romanian Academy, pupil of Ernst Haeckel, founder and director of the spectacular Museum of Natural History from Bucharest (1893–1944), main Romanian natural history museum, as an eternal gratitude and high respect for all his work and life devoted to his people and country, with the occasion of centennial anniversary of opening of this museum. [details]
