Taxonomic remark The species was originally described at the coast of the Sea of Azov; its life cycle was also elucidated there, with E. ventrosa as the first intermediate hosts (Garkavi, 1968). There were no further records of its intramolluscan stages, but Cercaria Notocotylidae sp. no. 12 Deblock, 1980 from Peringia ulvae have similar appearance, particularly the morphotype. [details]
