Spelling Hartman in the catalogue and in 1961 treated 'cariboum' as a Latinized adjective requiring gender suffix mandatory change when used in feminine Semiodera. This is a possible, and a quite reasonable interpretation, except that the original 'cariboum' is not a Latin word, and appears to be a unique construction of Grube. Salazar-Vallejo (2012) treated it as a noun. [details]
