The cast of a sabellid worm and its tube and thirteen species of serpulid worm tube from lower Miocene rocks of the Waitakere Ranges are recorded and described. Their paleoecology is briefly considered. Archesabella n. gen. is proposed for fossil tubes containing the body casts of sabellid-like worms. These worms have the abdomen, collar and tubes of a sabellid and thoracic lateral lobes of a terebellid. A. bartrumi n. sp. is described and figured.
