Biostratigraphic dating was carried out on 85 samples of Neogene sediments from the Nieder Ochtenhausen research borehole. Zones B 7-B 9 (VINKEN 1988) and six Uvigerina Zones were recognised within the interval from the latest Early Miocene to Late Miocene. A new local zone above the saxonica Zone, within the upper B 9 Zone, is defined by benthic foraminifera . . . In the systematic part of the paper selected foraminifera are described and three new species are established.
