In a major contribution, the Romanian paleoalgologist Dragastan presents a significant review of Tethyan porostromatic algae. This is particularly concerned with the taxonomic criteria used for identifying these Mesozoic and Cenozoic algae, and accordingly numerous taxonomic changes are included. Results of this much needed review is the erection of seven new genera and 18 new species.
