[translation] Conclusion. In the report of PV Ushakov (1955) for all the Far Eastern seas of the USSR, only 9 species of spirorbid are cited, 6 of them were recorded off the coast of Eastern Kamchatka. However, Jugaria granulata and BushieIla valida are found exclusively in the North Atlantic, "Spirorbis semidentatus" is a junior synonym of Paradexiospira vitrea, and another species has been identified as Protoleodora asperata (= medius). Subsequent studies by Soviet authors did not bring additional results. F. Knight-Jones and co-authors (Knight-Jones et al., 1979), based on the materials of the Zoological Institute, indicate 6 species of spirorbids for Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, 4 of which were first noted for the Far Eastern waters of the USSR. We found 12 species of the family Spirorbidae belonging to 2 subfamilies and 6 genera. Nine species are noted here for the first time. Of these, Pileolaria rosepigmentata and Jugaria similis are new to the fauna of the USSR, and Paradexiospira canceIlata is new to the northern part of the Pacific Ocean. It is quite probable that during further investigations of the lower divisions of the Shelf, species new to the fauna of the USSR and also to science will be discovered.
