Blake (2017: 119) includes both Proscoloplos confusus Hartmann-Schröder, 1962, and Proscoloplos bondi Kelaher & Rouse, 2003 as junior synonyms of Proscoloplos cygnochaetus Day, 1954), in part based on evidence in Meyer et al (2008), which included some molecular data not indicating separate clades.
