Editor's comment Serpula contorta: Gerth (1941: 160) is an error for S. contortuplicata Savigny, and should be referred to S. vermicularis [details]

Editor's comment Serpula (Vermilia) contorta, new name for Serpula contortuplicata non Linnaeus, sensu Gravenhorst, 1831; the description of the operculum by Gravenhorst is very reminiscent of that of V. infundibulum, hence the tentative synonymy. [details]
