Etymology While Torometopa has a small lobe on the basis of P5, the species in this group have often a rather long and wide posterodistal lobe. The former group carries a bulge or “torus” (Latin) at their basis, whereas the latter prefix, “kyphos” (Greek) stresses that they have built an already larger “hump”. The gender of the new name is feminine. [details]
