Depth range Ledoyer mentioned (1982) that the specimens were collected at the bottom of the Indian Ocean, at 770 to 860 m depth. As the species has well-developed eyes, we cannot exclude the possibility that this population was imported by alluvion of some coconut or some piece of wood, trees, or fruits, maybe from shallow waters.
