Taxonomy Pronax was erected twice by Gray, 1867. The senior one, by page priority, was erected for Cliona lobata Hancock and thus is a junior synonym of Cliona; the preoccupied second one was erected for Spongia plumosa Montagu, which is a Phorbas. [details]
