Etymology The specific epithet curticirris is composed by the Latin words curti, form of the word curtus and meaning 'short' or 'shortened', and cirrus, a slender and usually flexible appendage in animals, and refers to the "exceedingly short" dorsal cirri present after the first chaetigers, having 4 and 3 articles alternately.
