Taxonomy Day (1967: 618 key) appears to distinguish Macroclymene from Euclymene on the basis of presence of 30 or more chaetigers in Macroclymene, and 25 or less in Euclymene [details]
Type species Type species Clymene producta Lewis 1897 by original designation. Verrill also refers on the same page to the name as Clymene elongata Lewis. This appears to be a lapsus. There are two 'elongata' maldanid species but neither is authored by Lewis [details]
