Seven species have been described in the ascidian genus Pseudodistoma (subphylum Tunicata, Class Ascidiacea). Of these, two are from Stewart Island, New Zealand, one from Japan, one from the Mediterranean, one from Senegal, West Africa, and two from waters adjacent to Southern Africa. The new species, described in the present paper, was collected by J.H. Stock of the Zoological Museum, Amsterdam, from Nosi Tanga in the northern part of Madagascar.
