Recent endemic Aporrhaidae from West Africa are discussed. Based on morphological and biogeographical analysis, three species are recognised, viz. Aporrhais senegalensis J. E. GRAY, 1838; A. pesgallinae BARNARD, 1963 and A. elegantissima PARENZAN, 1970; two further morphs cannot be attributed to either of these species, and because These specimens have characters intermediate between A. senegalensis and A. pesgallinae; and A. senegalensis and A. elegantissima respectively, these are considered of hybrid origin. Distributional and bathymetric data are provided.
