Diagnosis Test circular to ovoid in outline, up to 1.0 mm in diameter, commonly collapsed and flattened in preservation; wall finely agglutinated, surface smooth to somewhat rough where occasional grains protrude; aperture rounded or may appear ovate to slitlike, depending on degree of compression, may be slightly elevated on a short neck or surrounded by a thickened rim, generally terminal, although secondary compression may result in a somewhat eccentric position. Cretaceous to Miocene, typically in flysch deposits; cosmopolitan. (Loeblich & Tappan, 1987, Foraminiferal Genera and Their Classification) [details]
