Diagnosis Test large, flabelliform, early portion with globular proloculus followed by an undivided tubular second chamber in numerous planispiral whorls that gradually enlarge at first, later whorls enlarging more rapidly, flaring and uncoiling, as test becomes wide, flattened, and flabelliform; wall calcareous, imperforate, porcelaneous, milky white in color, surface with distinct transverse growth lines that are strongly arched in the flabelliformn stage of growth, also may have numerous fine longitudinal striae; aperture a narrow elongate slit at the open end of the flattened tube.
