Twenty eight planktonic foraminiferal species are now reported from the late Albian‑Turonian sediments of the Romanian Western Black Sea offshore. Two of the taxa are new: Heterohelix olssoni n.sp. is a rather primitive heterohelicid showing large early planispirally coiled stage and few biserial chambers when adult, and Dicarinella robinsoni n. sp., a species showing almost parallel spiral and umbilical sides, probable an ancestor of D. canaliculata (Reuss). A biostratigraphical frame, consisting of six zones and two subzones is now provided.
