Authority "Lankester (1885, p. 846) elevated the subfamily Saccammininae Brady 1884 to “Fam. 3. SACCAMMININA” beneath “ORDER 2. ASTRO- RHIZIDEA, Brady”. Mikhalevich (1995) credited Lankester (1885) with establishing the suborder “Saccamminina” but she was actually the first to elevate the taxon to the suborder and order level. Mikhalevich (1995) placed the order Saccammin- ida in the class Astrorhizata Saidova 1981, whereas Kaminski (2014) included the suborder Saccamminina in the order Ast- rorhizida Lankester 1885. The International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (1999) has established rules for au- thorship of taxa at the species, genus, and family group levels (article 50.3.1) but has established no rules for authorship at the order level or higher. If article 50.3.1 was applied at the or- der level, the authorship in that case would be “Saccamminina Brady 1884”. However, the established order level authorship in the systematics of Kaminski (2014) generally credits the author who first uses the taxon at the order level, such as Lankester (1885) in the case of the order Astrorhizida. The present authors follow this precedence and so credit Mikhalevich (1995) with the authorship of the suborder Saccamminina."
