Metaconchoecia goodayi sp.n. which belongs to the 2nd subgroup of the genus Metaconchoecia is described and figured from a male caught from a depth of 3,000-2,500 m at 53 degree 11.5'-21,5'N, 163 degree 09'-162 degree 56'W during the cruise of the R/V Vityaz' in June 1969. A key for identification of species of the 2nd subgroup of the genus Metaconchoecia is presented
