Grammatical gender Feminine. Grube and following authors have treated Amphicteis as feminine, for example Amphicteis invalida Grube (instead of invalidus). [details]
Synonymy Schiaparelli & Jirkov (2016), and earlier Jirkov (2011) consider that Paramphicteis Caullery, 1944, Phyllamphicteis Augener, 1918, and Pseudoamphicteis Hutchings, 1977 are synonyms of Amphicteis Grube, 1850. Reuscher et al (2015) disagree. [details]
